An electric dirt bike can offer a different riding experience from a petrol motorcycle, but the right choice depends on where you will ride, how long you need to ride and how you will charge and maintain it. Electric propulsion does not establish road legality or trail access.
R1 specification overview
EUNORAU’s Australian R1 listing specifies a 72V 35Ah battery, a 4,000W motor with 8,000W peak power and a manufacturer-rated maximum speed of 85 km/h. It gives up to 120 km range below 25 km/h and approximately four hours charging with the listed 72V 10A charger. These are manufacturer figures, not guarantees for every rider or terrain.
The R1 specification also lists a twist throttle, hydraulic brakes, front and rear suspension and a weight of 59 kg. Confirm the exact bike and supplied components before ordering; do not transfer specifications from the R1+, R1-17 or other models to it.
Electric versus petrol: practical trade-offs
An electric motor produces no exhaust emissions at the point of use. That is different from saying the complete product has zero environmental impact. Electricity generation, manufacturing and batteries also matter.
Charging requires suitable equipment and time; petrol refuelling and electric charging cannot be compared using unsupported universal time claims. Work out your own riding schedule, electricity access and transport arrangements before choosing.
An electric drivetrain avoids some petrol-engine service tasks, but tyres, brakes, bearings, suspension and drive components still need inspection and maintenance. Check the supplied manual and budget for servicing rather than assuming the bike is maintenance-free or that repairs will always cost less.
Check where it may be used
The R1 is a high-powered electric dirt bike. Do not treat it as a compliant pedal-assisted bicycle for public roads or shared paths. Verify the rules in your state or territory and the conditions imposed by the landowner or trail manager. Nature reserves and public trails do not become permitted riding locations because a motorcycle is electric or quieter.
For Victoria, consult Transport Victoria’s e-bike rules. A water-resistance rating also does not mean a bike is suitable for every wet-weather situation or submersion; follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
